Once the replacement tooth root has securely bonded to the jawbone, an abutment will be installed which acts as the connection between the replacement root in the jawbone and the new dental crown that attaches to it. Your dentist with place a colour-matched dental crown over the implant that is designed to blend in with your natural teeth. When replacing multiple teeth, your dentist may fit you with a custom dental bridge or dentures that attach to the implants.
