New Patients
Dental Coverage & Payment Information
At Wildwood Dental Clinic, we believe everyone deserves access to quality dental care. We offer several financial options to help make treatment more affordable, including insurance coordination, flexible payment options, and the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP).
Our team is happy to help you understand your coverage and discuss payment options before treatment.
Direct insurance billing
We direct bill most major Canadian dental insurance carriers. This means we submit your claim to your insurance company on your behalf, and you pay only any remaining balance at the time of your visit, rather than paying the full amount upfront and waiting for reimbursement.
Please bring your insurance card to every appointment. We'll need your plan number, member ID, and carrier information to process your claim.
Coverage varies widely by plan. If you're unsure whether your plan is accepted at Wildwood Dental Clinic, please call us before your appointment and we can confirm.
Please note:
- Insurance coverage varies by provider and plan
- Some services may require co-payments
- Not all procedures may be fully covered
If you have questions about your insurance coverage, our team would be happy to help.
Treatment estimates
For non-emergency treatment, we can provide a pre-treatment estimate to your insurance company upon request. This can give you a clearer picture of what your plan will cover before treatment is carried out, so there are no surprises.
If you'd like a pre-authorization estimate before proceeding with a recommended treatment, let us know and we'll arrange it. Keep in mind that insurance estimates are not guarantees of coverage, final benefit amounts are determined by your insurer based on your current plan details.
Government Program
Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal government program designed to make dental care more affordable for eligible Canadian residents who do not have dental insurance. The program helps cover a portion of the cost of many dental services. Wildwood Dental Clinic is pleased to support patients who qualify for the CDCP.
Who qualifies for the CDCP?
You may qualify if you meet all of the following criteria:
- You do not have access to private dental insurance
- Your adjusted family net income is under $90,000 per year
- You are a Canadian resident for tax purposes
- You filed your tax return in the previous year
What services may be covered?
The CDCP may help cover a portion of the cost for many dental services such as:
- Dental exams and X-rays
- Cleanings and preventive care
- Fillings and restorative care
- Root canals
- Periodontal treatment
- Some oral surgery services
Some services may require pre-authorization before they are covered. Depending on your household income, the program may cover between 40% and 100% of eligible treatment costs.
Important notes about CDCP
- The CDCP may not cover the full cost of treatment
- Some procedures require pre-approval
- Patients must renew their CDCP coverage each year after filing their annual income tax return
- Additional charges may apply depending on the treatment and coverage limits
Our team will help explain your benefits and discuss any costs before your appointment.
How to apply for the CDCP
Patients apply directly through the Government of Canada. You can apply online through your My Service Canada Account (MSCA).

Provincial dental coverage programs may also apply in some circumstances.
